Swim Lesson News
NEW...
Check out our new swim lesson blog (updated weekly)
at http://waterworksonwheels.blogspot.com.
Backyard lessons will be underway before we know it. Sign
up early to secure a spot! Visit our website at
http://waterworksonwheels.com for dates and fees.
NEW... We know how busy
everyone is during the summer. Although we do believe in the
consistency of a four-day a week summer program (because the
progress is quite noticeable), we are now offering a two-day
a week program for the first time in Waterworks backyard history.
You may now choose Mondays through Thursdays (4-day)
or Tuesdays and Thursdays (2-day).
NEW...
Fitness Works Chandler (Queen Creek and Gilbert
Rd.) pool is almost open! We thank all of you who have patiently
waited for its opening. We are still taking registrations,
as we know these Monday and Wednesday (after- school) and
Saturday (morning) classes will be SOLD OUT.
NEW... Safety days - on
the fourth and eighth lesson of each session,
we will practice water safety skills with full clothing. We
know that if a child falls into the pool, chances are they
will be fully clothed. We want the child to become more familiar
with this feeling and learn to tread, float, climb out of
the pool, and swim with clothing on. Waterworks does not believe
in the word "survival" or in giving a "false sense of security".
Swim lessons do not take the place of constant supervision!
Read our article, "Educating the Public", online at http://waterworksonwheels.com. Also
keep an eye out for us in Raising Arizona Kids magazine. Yours
truly, Janice Jaicks, will be featured in the upcoming May
issue.
NEW... Our next indoor sessions
are beginning March 4th or April 3rd (Tues/Thurs lessons -
Higley/Baseline location) and March 29th (Saturday lessons
- Higley/Baseline, Chandler/Dobson, and Queen Creek/Gilbert).
Featured Swimmers
 I
would like to personally feature my little 2 and 3-year- old
girls who moved up from the Parent/Tot class a few months
ago to be in a Beginner class together (with me as their instructor).
Sage, Jordan, and Sarah join me every Saturday morning at
Fitness Forum. Although none of them are older than three,
they can swim several yards with big arms and kicks, can swim
on their backs with kickboards across the pool, and can turn
around and grab the wall to safety when entering the pool!
Sarah floated on her back independently for "ever" this last
Saturday. She used to get the "jitters", but has really come
around with her confidence as well as her skills. Sage also
mastered floating on her back independently a few weeks ago
and Jordan is on her way! Jordan, who is only two, truly sits
still and waits her turn at every lesson. It makes me happy
to see such great progress!
Join Our Team
Waterworks
is looking for a few great leaders to join our team of swim
instructors. If you are this person, or know someone who might
have the characteristics to be a great swim instructor, send
them our way.
Qualities needed: Patience, love of children, responsible,
reliable, conscientious, organized, experience with young
children (age 2 and up) in some capacity especially teaching
water safety, and caring about doing a good job! Experience
preferred, but will train. School teachers... a perfect job
for you!! The rewards are endless!
Call Gretchen or Janice at 480-461-3888 TODAY. Training begins

Personal Notes
from Janice
End of February brought a 24-hour Las Vegas weekend trip
for my family. My mom and dad, brother Rob, sister Carol and
husband Bob, husband Perry and myself celebrated my brother
Joe's 50th birthday. It was a fun, whirlwind time with roulette,
3-card poker, black jack, dinners, lunches, white tiger and
dolphin exhibit, Cirque du Soleil the Beatles Love performance
(FABULOUS!) and coming home with $$!!
Early March brings business and pleasure together for the
IHRSA convention in San Diego with Michael and Jill, owners
of Fitness Forum and friend Lauren. We are staying at the
new Hard Rock Café and I'm very excited to see all the new
fitness equipment, enjoy the management lectures and enjoy
San Diego.
Luke moved out to an apartment in Tempe with friend Koben.
He appears here every night announcing that he thinks he'll
have dinner here Monday through Thursday since it's on his
way home from workout. Hello... is this moving out?! Maybe
I am too good of a cook.
Luke and I also had a great experience once a week at a spirituality
class this past month. Meditation practice and feel good and
get to know yourself type practices. It was great stuff.
Weather is at its finest in Arizona. Enjoying bike rides
and smelling all the flowers from our excess of Arizona winter
rain this year.
Yours in Health,
Janice
